Viral Trader Joe's Dumpling Bake
And it's worth every dang view on TikTok.
Have you seen the viral Trader Joe’s dumpling bake? Our video of this trend recently blew up, and I can say, without a doubt, that this one is for very good reason. Just listen to this—a layer of savory-stuffed dumplings, bathed in a quick sauce made from stirring together red curry sauce, coconut milk, and a little teriyaki-ish sauce. Bake then garnish with all the good stuff—cilantro, green onions, chili crisp?
I mean, I’m down on one knee from that description alone.
Can you watch the video and get the general idea of how to make this? Absolutely. But I’m an Old™, and it’s still so much easier for me to cook from a static, written recipe.
Why you’ll love this: It takes like three minutes of prep, is packed with rich but balanced flavors, and earns you a trip to TJ’s. Make sure you pick up some of my fave Trader Joe’s affordable luxuries while you’re there, and just burrow deep into the coziness of your home.
Why your partner will love this: Did I mention it’s delicious? Oh, and it requires like, one baking dish to wash. The internet lost their ding-dang minds when we said the recipe uses only one dish to wash and then proceeded to show a whisk on screen, so don’t come for me here. But only one giant dish or pan required? I’m in.
What you need: A bag of gyoza-style potstickers from TJ’s, garlic, a little Soy-aki (or teriyaki sauce), some red curry sauce, and coconut milk. You can actually get all of this from pretty much any grocery store, but I find the potstickers to be the cheapest from Trader Joe’s. My Trader Joe’s was out of red curry sauce, so I used another brand with great results.

What to serve with this dumpling bake: Think… some steamed edamame, a simple cucumber salad, or a green salad with a ginger or sesame dressing.
If you don’t like/can’t do coconut: I really don’t think this dish has a strong coconut flavor, but if you’re really sensitive to it, consider about 3/4 cup milk with around 1/4 cup yogurt stirred together in place of the coconut milk. And let me know how you like it!
Let’s go!
Trader Joe’s Dumpling Bake with Red Curry-Coconut Sauce
1/4 cup Soyaki
3/4 bottle Thai-style red curry sauce (prepared simmer sauce, not red curry paste)
1 cup coconut milk (not sweetened coconut cream, like Coco Lopez)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 C. Water
20 frozen potstickers of choice
Garnish
Fresh cilantro, chopped
Green onions, thinly sliced
A spoonful of Crunchy Chili Onion or chili crisp
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a small bowl, whisk together the first five ingredients to make the sauce. Arrange about 20 potstickers in a baking dish and pour the sauce evenly over the top. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30–40 minutes.
Finish with fresh cilantro, sliced green onion, and a spoonful of chili crisp (Crunchy Chili Onion) before serving.
