I’ll be the first to admit that I tend to overdo it.
Like… all of it. Everything. You might as well write on my tombstone:
“Anything worth doing is worth way overdoing” - Cheryl
And to be frank, in this bizarre scenario into which I’ve pulled you, I probably perished standing on my tiptoes on the top rung of some ladder, installing draped fabric for, like, a PTA meeting at my house.
“At least she died doing what she loved/resented after putting on herself arbitrarily,” they’d say.
BUT when it comes to a cookout? I’ve got a little secret. It only looks like I’m overdoing it. Really what I’m doing is copying and pasting my secret BBQ formula that manages to turn my backyard into a sweet little oasis one might even refer to as an “alfresco” setting (instead of its natural state—the children’s waterpark and junkyard).
We’re eating well, drinking well, and getting people TFO of here in a timely manner. So… we’re also sleeping well. Win-win-win all around.
The perfect cookout boils down to a few simple choices. But first, what are we not doing?
We are NOT making more than one main. Repeat after me! ONE. ENTRÉE.
OK… now that we’ve done our daily affirmations (more for moi than anyone else, that’s for certain), let’s dive into the formula.
