Oooook, is it just me, or are we obsessed with KPop Demon Hunters? When it first popped up on my Netflix suggestions, I was like, “Cute, my girl will love this.”
Then I started hearing the bops bopping from the other room… She convinced me to watch it together, and oh, I just loved it so much. It’s everything we need, right? A deeper message of that little voice within each of us, how we try to battle it but have to embrace it as being so human?
Also, ramen. And precious boys demons with dark sides and deep souls. At least one of them, anyway.
Naturally, my little Virgo asked, like, uh, last week, for a KPop Demon Hunters birthday party. While I’m busy working up a Galinda-fication Wicked-themed makeover party for my daughter’s “big” birthday party with her friends (for which invitations have already been mailed, friend), I couldn’t resist throwing a little Huntr/x-themed party for her family mini celebration. It was tooooootally selfless. No ulterior motives here!
How I Planned It
Make sure you’re following me on Instagram so you don’t miss the full video!
At first, I was thinking super simple, with mainly an image-based cake at her family dinner. I was so fixated on an edible photo of Huntr/x on a sheet cake, until I realized… KPop? Cake… pop? CAKE POP.
After that, the dams broke; the obsession unleashed.
I planned it sort of from the point of view of the girls, almost like we’re hanging in their gawjus apartment with their cushy couches, floor-to-ceiling views of the honmoon, and bottomless snacks.
Or maybe we’re in their private jet (Preferably one that remains whole and demon-free), scarfing down pre-show snacks. Or we’re in our Saja Boys era, singing along despite our best efforts to resist their abs.
I knew I wanted three primary food stations:
Ramyeon bar obviously
Dirty soda pop bar, for a Saja Boys moment and fun customizable bevvy spot
Pre-show snacks bar, with loads of Korean favorites, many of which were shown in the movie
With a bonus immersion-style touch: Healer Han tonics. I bought these Paldo Pororo grape pouches, then made Healer Han labels through Photoshop, printed them on printable vinyl paper, and cut them out with my Cricut.
I used Korean grape pouches, BUT you can totally use Capri Suns, too, which would be way easier. I’ve included printable labels for both at the bottom, which you can access if you’re a free subscriber.
If you’d like a free template for these labels, become a subscriber and check your email! You’ll receive the download link in your welcome email after subscribing. If you’re already a subscriber, just DM me in the chat or comment below to get the link!
The printables are totally free, but you have to like, like me, OK? Don’t be weird about it.
Theme-y Extras
I added a couple theme-y touches in with these more immersion-style foods, which is my preference. Here’s what I included for hard KPop references:
Derpy Tiger tails (Pretzel rods dipped in blue-tinted vanilla bark, topped with chocolate “tiger stripes”—like the Tigger tails I made for my son’s Winnie-the-Pooh-themed 2nd birthday party ages ago [No, I’m fine, my eyes are just so sweaty all of a sudden]).
Weapon Recharging Tonic: OK, I really just don’t have a better name for this, but it’s just glowing water, OK? I got LED glow cubes and turned them blue then floated them in a beverage container of water, as an homage to the girls’ special traditional weapons that, well, glow blue and slay demons.
Rumi’s KPop Cake Pops: They’re cake pops with patterns. Get it? KPop - cake pop. I bought premade white-ish cake pops and drizzled them with purple-tinted vanilla bark.
Ramyeon Bar
The long and short of this one is: provide lots of ramen and provide lots of toppings. I way overthought it and couldn’t decide if I was doing bricks of ramen, bags, bowls, fresh noodles…
Naw, just buy some ramen and put it out.

You’ll need some hot water, too, which can come from a beverage airpot (which comes awfully in handy during winter parties for hot cocoa bars!)
Topping ideas:
Eggs, of course. Soft boiled, hard boiled, marinated… whatever, just get some eggs going.
Chicken, pork, steak, tofu—some kind of protein. Bonus points for chashu, but you best be inviting me.
Lots of kimchi: obviously.
Narutomaki—fish cakes. I bought dehydrated narutomaki from Amazon because I’m just generally a fan, and I think it’s stunning, too. It’s not Korean, but I like it on my ramen so voilà.
Veggies—you can do thinly sliced green onions, corn, or even dehydrated veggies designed for ramen. Some ramen bowls or bags will come with dehydrated veggie packs, but you can buy some in bulk to serve, too. This one comes with narutomaki, too.
Nori—I just use seaweed snacks and cut them down to manageable sizes.
The ramen
I just bought so much ramen. So much. I bought big bowls, I bought small bowls, I bought packets, I bought a Hello Kitty ramen set? I bought it all. It felt right.
Really, I wanted everyone to be able to try something new and eat what sounded best to them, so I just bought a variety of individual ramens locally, including plenty of Korean Buldak, with their carbonara and cheesy versions! Yessss, yes yes.
The layout
I put the toppings in individual bowls, laid out loads of ramen, filled up my beverage urn with hot water, and provided chopsticks and large paper ramen bowls that I found at Oriental Trading Company.
Everyone seasoned and loaded their ramen just how they liked, which was such a blast. Highly recommend, and I hear that some people
Dirty Soda Pop Bar
This one’s a bit ridiculous, but it was really so much fun. The kids absolutely loved it, and so did I. If you’re not familiar, the concept is pretty much just… adding stuff to soda to turn up the flavor. Think coconut cream and lime in Diet Coke, or vanilla creamer in orange soda, or chocolate syrup and a maraschino cherry in a cola. Why not?!
Oh, and I made little heart-shaped Saja Boy logo stickers to slap on some pink plastic cups we had already ordered for said Glinda-Wicked party, and they turned out SO CUTE (*squee moment*). Huge fan.
Dirty soda bar ideas:
The sodas:
Cola (plus diet, maybe)
Dr. Pepper-style
Grape soda
Orange soda
Lemon-lime soda
Root beer
Strawberry soda (like my beloved strawberry vanilla Olipop)
Cream soda
The add-ins:
Vanilla creamer
Coconut creamer or cream
Cherry syrup
Vanilla syrup
Chocolate syrup
Amarula liqueur (or whatever!) for the grown-ups
The extras:
Cherries
Lime juice
Whipped cream
Cold foam
Fresh fruit
I kept the sodas in our unbearably cute pink rolling cooler, with extras on top in cute little bottles and jars. If it ain’t cute, I don’t want it. Or, well, I’m just gonna make it cute, OK? Let me live.

Pre-Show Snacks
OK, now THIS is where the fun really happened. I discovered HMart, which is absolutely loaded with Korean goodies, and went positively ham.
I made sure I had these things from the show:
Hotteok (Korean filled pancake)
Eomuk (Fish cake skewers)
Korean potato chips (I bought like, every variety they sell, so.)
We didn’t have kimbap, only due to my general running out of steam, but it’s really delicious and could be super fun to make. Plus, it’s a classic from the show!
Other fun foods I included:
Honey butter twist potatoes (I figured the girls would be down with these honey butter twisty potato skewers, and I couldn’t resist)
Turtle chips (a Korean favorite)
Choco pies (Like Korean Moon Pies? They’re fluffy, the box even insists.)
The Invitations
It may have been a tiny themed party for like, three family members, but invitations were still required. Especially when they’re staring you right in the face like these!
We had to use the “Save the Date” themed cards from the movie, and inside it said “Let’s save the honmoon together.” We sure should, right?

Decor
I didn’t want to really go all out here, and I wasn’t entirely sure exactly what that meant anyway. What felt right was using the iridescent fringe banners we had left over from my daughter’s Eras-Tour-themed grad party last year. We stuck up a few colors on a focal window and stuck letter-size posters of the Saja Boys and fan drawings. We drew devil faces on the Saja boys because… obviously.
It was super, super simple, almost entirely free (Like, it cost paper and ink?), and leaned into that feeling of being in the girls’ apartment or green room, with a fun touch of zhuzhj from the fringe.

By the way, the cute little sticker graphic on this post’s is from Sugar Bubbas, which has the cutest KPop Demon Hunters merch. You should really check it out!
The ‘Fits & Tunes
What to wear
Oh, man, there are so many options for outfits here. As long as you’ve got your heels, nails, blade, mascara, you’re set.
One really easy Rumi-esque look is to draw demon patterns on your skin with purple makeup. I used this NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil, which was really affordable and drew on well.
I was positively delighted by the squeaky slide moment in the show, and I own like, a surprising amount of black leather? So it was a good fit for me, and the leather did not betray. For bonus points, coordinate with your friends and prove to everyone you’re actually the best at everything.
Or go hard “Couch! Couch! Couch!” moment and wear fluffy robes, or maybe sweats and a ratty tee with comfy sandals. These girls are the ultimate in versatility.
Pro level only: Be like Baby Hunter’s grandma (referred to as Gwa-Ma for the party) and DIY a shirt at the last minute, even though you’ve never actually seen KpDH.
Tunes
What do you mean, tunes? Obviously just play the soundtrack.
I can’t believe you even asked me this.
Activities
Hot sauce-eating contest. I mean, it doesn’t get more authentic than this. My daughter was absolutely fixated on us having this contest so…….. yeah. Do it. You won’t regret it (You might regret it; it’s the heartburn that really gets you.).
Perfect your “Soda Pop” dance.
KARAOKE! This is not a drill.
Draw devil faces on the Saja Boys posters then...
Throw darts at the posters of the Saja Boys.
OK, are we so excited about this theme? I feel like it’s going to be a big one this year, and it’ll be a poppin’ Halloween costume, too.

If you need help with the tonic one, let me know! It’s sort of a trickier one, but you can totally just print it and cut it out to stick on those juice pouches. The Pororo pouches are super fun, but you can totally use Capri Sun pouches, too, which are way easier to cute. I’ve included labels for both.
